Cape Dreaming

I find myself daydreaming of the beach lately. "Cape Dreaming" is a new work I just completed this week inspired by visits to the eastern seaboard. We are lucky enough to spend a week every few summers in Rehoboth which I love. Of course being land locked as I am, living anywhere closer to water would be a dream come true.....hopefully someday!

New Beginnings

After many months of thinking and procrastinating, I am finally starting my blog! Those of you who already know me know that 2012 was a year of big changes for me...perhaps a mini mid life crisis if you want to call it that! I left the corporate world where I had been very unhappy for a long time and made the decision to resuscitate my creative self that had been in hibernation!

So I picked up my paint brushes and started painting again and it has been the best thing I have ever done (besides marrying my husband and having two amazing children!). There was no plan really to start selling my artwork and it was really more on a whim that I decided to put them on Etsy to see what would happen, but I am so glad I did!

My initial plan you see was to build upon the business I had started in 2000 where I specialized in hand painted children's furniture. I have been rescuing and painting furniture since I was in college, long before HGTV! I still love doing that and hope to take on many projects this year because I truly love taking something that may be headed to Good Will and making it into something special!

This blog is about sharing my projects with you. I hope that they inspire you to be creative and prehaps try something you have always wanted to do in your home to make it special and unique!

Here's to 2013 and all it's possibilities!

Design Chat With Kim Lemmon - Art Discovery With Reader Discount

"Do you know my favorite thing about the internet? It's the way you can connect with like-minded people hundreds of miles away that you otherwise never would have had the opportunity to meet! Case and point: last week I got a nice email from a talented artist gal named Carolyn Shultz about some lamps I had for sale on a post I did months ago. Through the magic of Pinterest and all the associated linky stuff, she found my little blog and contacted me about the lamp. We had a nice cyber chat, which led me to her website- and (holy talented!), you have got to see these paintings!"

Visit Kim's site at chattafabulous.blogspot.com. She has a fabulous shop with tons of great vintage finds for your home!

Thanks Kim!
